How to Change Apple ID to iCloud Email Address

There is a way to change Apple ID from Gmail.com or Outlook.com to an iCloud.com account. If that is something you’ve always wanted to achieve, follow the steps below to change your Apple ID to iCloud Email Address.

Change your Apple ID to iCloud Email Address

In the past, it was the possibility of changing Apple ID Email Address from one Third Party to another third Third Email Account However, it was not possible to change the address for the iCloud.com Email Address.

But, Apple is now allowing you to transfer your Apple ID using any third-party provider such as Gmail, Outlook, Hotmail or Yahoo to an icloud.com email address.

Before you begin the steps required to convert your Apple ID to iCloud Email Address it is important be aware that the change is permanent , and it is impossible to use an external Email Address as your Apple ID.

For example, if you switch Apple ID from “[email protected]” to “[email protected]”, you won’t be able to go back to [email protected] or “[email protected]”.

1. Change Apple ID to iCloud Contact On iPhone or iPad

Following the instructions below, you can follow to convert your Apple ID to iCloud Email Address on your iPhone or iPad.

1.1. Open Settings > on the page for settings, click on your name.

1.2. On the next screen, click on Name and Phone Numbers. Email.

1.3. When you are asked to fill in the Apple ID Password and click on OK.

1.4. On the next screen, press to edit.

1.5. Next click on the tiny Red Circle located next to the Apple ID email address. And then press the delete button. (See the image below).

1.6. Next you’ll get a “Choose another email address to use for Apple ID” pop-up, press Continue.

1.7. You might be asked to verify your identity by answering two Security Questions.

1.8. On the next screen, type in the iCloud.com email address you wish to use as the Apple ID and tap on Next.

1.9. Follow the next steps to complete the procedure

In this way, you are able to alter your existing Apple account to Gmail, Outlook or any third-party Email Address to Apple’s own iCloud.com Email Address.

2. Change your Apple Account into iCloud Email Address using Mac or PC

The steps are below to convert your Apple ID to iCloud Email Address on the computer or Mac or PC

2.1. Open Safari, Chrome or any other browser on your Mac or PC, and go to appleid.apple.com

2.2. Next you need to log in onto the Apple Account by using your Apple ID email address and password.

2.3. Once you have logged in you can click the Edit button located in the top-right corner of your Account area.

2.4. On the next screen, tap on the Change Apple ID… option.

5. On the pop-up Enter your new iCloud.com Email Address you wish to use for your new Apple ID and click on the Continue button.
